Our Story
AHOP Chicago is a Pentecostal church located in the New City neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago. Founded in 1986, the church has been dedicated to providing a place of worship and spiritual guidance for the community. We have been planted in an area that is ripe for the harvest. It is a place for real people, with real issues, who serve a real God. Our ongoing mantra is “Pray Until Something Happens” or PUSH. Our church has been built on a solid Apostolic foundation, focused on evangelism and rehabilitation. Some of the pillars of our church have been our Drug and Alcohol Ministry, our Youth Ministry and Community Outreach, in addition to our radio and TV Ministries. We are a church of love, faith, and family.
Our Relationships
At AHOP Chicago, we value relationships. We believe in building a community of faith where everyone is welcome. Whether you are a long-time member or a first-time visitor, we treat everyone with love, compassion, and respect. Our goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals seeking spiritual fulfillment.
Experience
We have been serving the Back of the Yards/ New City community for over three decades. During this time, we have seen countless lives transformed through the power of God's love and grace. Our experience has taught us that nothing is impossible with God.
Accountability
We believe in being accountable to God and to one another. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and strive to live a life that is pleasing to God. We are committed to being good stewards of the resources that God has given us and using them to make a positive impact in the community.
Our Beliefs
We believe in one God, evidenced as, Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit infilling the church.

We believe in the baptism of water, according to Acts 2:38– by full immersion– and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.

We believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, wrought by His shed blood on Calvary and evidenced by His resurrection and victory over death and the grave.

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to transform and change lives supernaturally, making us new creatures in Christ Jesus.

We believe in the authority of Holy Scripture as the sacred Word of God and that it alone contains the way and method of salvation.

We believe in the call to love and serve one another to become genuine disciples of Jesus Christ and to lead men and women to salvation in Jesus Christ.

We believe in the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the catching away of His church-the Bride of Christ.
